Trauma counselling

Events that have left a traumatic impression on us without being addressed can have far reaching consequences on our long-term wellbeing.

 

Not all traumas are obvious.  Many are subtle and may seem insignificant until we begin to unearth the feelings and experiences around them.  Whether the trauma was caused in childhood, or you have experienced a traumatic event as an adult, whether it was a single event, or ongoing and long-term, the effect can be debilitating.

 

Regardless of the source of the trauma, the first step towards healing is to feel safe enough to talk about your feelings.  Only then will you understand the impact it has had.

 

Trauma Counselling will allow you to identify and come to terms with your feelings around what has happened in a safe and supportive way.  Once you begin to understand how what you experienced has affected your emotional, physical, and mental well-being we can then create a plan to support you in healing and moving forward in your life.
